Sri Lanka Packing Guide: What to Bring
Sri Lanka's compact size hides an enormous range of climates — from humid lowlands to cool central highlands — so packing right makes a real difference.
Bring light, breathable layers for the coast and lowlands, plus a warmer layer for evenings in the hill country around Ella and Nuwara Eliya. Neutral-toned clothing works best for wildlife safaris, along with a good pair of binoculars and a zoom lens if you're bringing a camera.
Don't forget reef-safe sunscreen, a reliable insect repellent, and a light rain jacket — Sri Lanka's weather can turn quickly, especially during the monsoon transitions.
