Preparing for Himalayan Riding
High-altitude motorcycle touring is unlike anything else on two wheels. Thin air, unpredictable weather, and long days in the saddle mean preparation matters as much as the ride itself.
Start training at least six weeks out — cardiovascular fitness helps your body cope with altitude far more than raw strength does. Layer your riding gear: a good thermal base, a windproof mid-layer, and a proper riding jacket rated for cold, changeable conditions.
Pack light, but pack right. A first-aid kit, altitude sickness medication (discussed with your doctor in advance), and a reliable power bank for navigation are non-negotiable. Our local guides carry the rest.
